Kathmandu, Nepal - The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), in collaboration with The Black List, The Redford Center, CAA Foundation, and NBCUniversal, has announced the launch of its 2026 Climate Storytelling Fellowship. This prestigious program aims to empower writers who are passionate about creating compelling narratives that address climate change and its impacts.
The fellowship offers three selected fellows a grant of $20,000 each, alongside six months of mentorship from industry leaders and climate experts. The goal is to support writers in developing powerful pilot or feature scripts that engage audiences with unique and meaningful climate themes.
Applications are now open and will remain so until November 28, 2025. Writers are encouraged to submit scripts that reflect creativity and innovation in climate storytelling. The program also provides additional benefits, including one month of free hosting and one evaluation fee for submissions on The Black List platform, ensuring that participants receive critical feedback to refine their work.
The fellowship’s emphasis on climate storytelling underscores the urgent need to use creative media to raise awareness and inspire action against the climate crisis. The final selection of fellows will be announced in April 2026, marking the beginning of their transformative journey to bring impactful stories to life.
