Kavre, Nepal - The year 2025 marked a significant chapter for youth leadership in Bagmati Province as Ms. Bijaya Poudel led Naldum Nagarkot Junior Jaycees with purpose, inclusivity, and forward-looking vision. Her presidency reflected how local youth-led institutions can contribute meaningfully to leadership development, social awareness, and civic engagement.
During her tenure, Ms. Poudel prioritized capacity building, social responsibility, and networking for growth, ensuring that programs addressed both community needs and leadership skills essential for the modern world.
One of the notable initiatives under her leadership was collaboration with the Alliance for All Abilities in Autism Care Centre, focusing on portage and rehabilitation. This program emphasized inclusive development and raised awareness about autism care-an often underrepresented issue in community-level discourse in Nepal.
Recognizing emerging global challenges, the organization also conducted a Cyber Security and Career Counseling Training Program, equipping young participants with essential digital safety knowledge and career guidance. This initiative aligned local youth with global workforce realities, particularly in an era of rapid digital transformation.
Cultural identity and community bonding were highlighted through the Area ‘C’ Teej Special Program, while leadership continuity and institutional growth were strengthened through the Area ‘C’ Junior Multi-Chapter Training, centered on “Networking Skills for Personal and JCI Growth.” These sessions fostered collaboration beyond organizational boundaries and encouraged young leaders to think regionally and nationally.
Addressing sensitive yet critical social issues, Ms. Poudel’s presidency also featured training on bullying and sexual harassment, promoting safer spaces and ethical leadership among youth-an important step toward responsible civic culture.
Her leadership was formally recognized through several awards, including:
Best Junior Jaycees Supportive Award 2023 (Naldum Nagarkot Junior Jaycees),
Active Participation Award 2024, and
Best Area ‘C’ President Award, highlighting her organizational effectiveness and commitment.
Beyond organizational programs, Ms. Poudel actively represented youth voices through platforms gained via networking and leadership exposure. She participated in the Bagmati Province Youth Summit (2082 BS), served as Speaker in the Bagmati Province Model Youth Parliament, and took on the role of Chief Whip (Ruling Party) in the Federal Model Youth Parliament. Her civic engagement will be also extended to democratic processes as an Election Day Observer in Dhulikhel Ward No. 10 for March 5th general election 2026.
Ms. Poudel began her Jaycees journey in 2022, rising steadily through leadership roles. In addition to serving as President of Naldum Nagarkot Junior Jaycees in 2025, she has been appointed Vice President of Naldum Nagarkot Jaycees for 2026. She also contributed at the national level as Personal Secretary to the National President of Nepal Jaycees 2025, JCI Senator Rajani Thapa, gaining valuable exposure to organizational leadership at scale.
Ms. Bijaya Poudel’s journey illustrates how structured youth organizations like Jaycees can nurture leaders who balance local action with global perspective. Her presidency stands as an example of how young leaders, when empowered, can drive inclusive development, civic awareness, and sustainable leadership for the future.
