Jajarkot Left-Progressive Youth Gathering Calls for Unity and Transformative Change

Kathmandu, Nepal - A gathering and interaction programme of left-progressive youths was held of Jajarkot under the theme "Youth Power in the Journey of Crisis, Unity and Revolutionary Transformation." The event brought together young participants to discuss the current challenges facing progressive politics and the role of youth in promoting unity, ideological clarity and social transformation.

The programme centred on a working paper highlighting the need to strengthen unity among progressive forces amid political fragmentation, ideological confusion and growing socio-economic challenges. Speakers emphasised that young people have a vital role in shaping the country's future and addressing issues such as unemployment, migration, corruption, inequality, climate change, the digital era and artificial intelligence through constructive political engagement.
The discussion also reflected on Nepal's political achievements, including the People's Movement, the Republic and federalism, while stressing the importance of learning from past shortcomings such as factionalism, individualism and the widening gap between political organisations and the public. Participants underscored that unity among progressive forces is essential for meaningful and people-centred transformation.
The interaction programme was moderated by Ms. Supriya Shahi, while Mr. Rajan Thapa chaired the session and formally concluded the programme. Participants described the event as an opportunity to encourage dialogue, exchange ideas and strengthen youth participation in future political and social initiatives.
The programme concluded with a shared commitment among participants to continue constructive discussions and contribute to building a more united, inclusive and progressive society.
