Kathmandu, October 24, 2026 - Himalaya Nepal Krishi Company Limited has successfully held its first Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Kathmandu, marking an important milestone in the company's efforts to promote integrated agriculture, clean energy, agro-processing, hospitality and innovation for a self-reliant Nepal.

The company envisions bringing these interconnected sectors together under one progressive platform to modernize Nepal's agricultural sector, strengthen food security, create rural employment opportunities and improve farmers' livelihoods.

According to Prof. Dr. Chandika Pandit Chairperson of the company's stated mission, its integrated business model aims to transform subsistence farming into a more productive, competitive and farmer-centered value chain. The approach emphasizes supporting farmers through training, fair prices and modern infrastructure, while connecting agricultural production with processing, value addition and access to broader markets.

Beyond agriculture, Himalaya Nepal Krishi Company has identified clean energy, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, hospitality and agro-tourism as key areas of its business focus. By linking agricultural production with these complementary sectors, the company aims to contribute to sustainable economic growth, rural prosperity and environmentally responsible development.

The company's broader vision reflects the importance of strengthening domestic agricultural production, reducing dependence on external supply chains and creating greater economic opportunities within Nepal. An integrated approach can also help farmers capture more value from their produce, provided that investment in infrastructure, technology, market access and fair business practices translates into tangible benefits for farming communities.

The successful completion of the company's first AGM represents an early institutional milestone as it pursues its long-term vision of combining modern agriculture with diversified, sustainability-oriented business activities.

As Nepal continues to seek pathways towards greater food security, economic resilience and green development, initiatives that connect farmers, markets, technology and clean energy could play a constructive role in building a more prosperous and self-reliant nation.FB_IMG_1792814262171-1792814301.jpg
