Kathmandu, August 30 - Samaj Dental Hospital, one of Nepal’s leading dental care providers, has expanded its presence across the Kathmandu Valley and beyond, reinforcing its commitment to accessible and affordable oral health care.
Established in 2001 at New Baneshwor, the hospital has grown into a network of clinics in Jawalakhel, Basundhara, Bhaktapur, Pepsicola, Banepa, Boudha-Jorpati, Sitapaila, Kausaltar, and Imadol. With a team of orthodontists, endodontists, periodontists, prosthodontists, and oral and maxillofacial surgeons, the institution offers a wide spectrum of services ranging from preventive dentistry to complex surgical procedures.
As part of its 25th anniversary celebration, Samaj Dental Hospital recently announced a treatment fund worth NPR 1 crore aimed at supporting dental care for poor and needy patients. The initiative reflects the hospital’s vision of extending services to all 77 districts and positioning Nepal as a potential destination for dental medical tourism.
During the inauguration of the hospital’s new Golfutar branch today, Chief Operating Officer Mr. Sabin Ghimire said that the hospital remains committed to providing quality services at affordable prices. His remarks highlighted the institution’s ongoing effort to balance professional excellence with affordability, ensuring that modern dental care is accessible to a wide section of society.
The hospital has also partnered with Nepal Bank Limited to provide special discounts-15 percent for employees and 10 percent for account-holding customers-at several of its branches.
Community feedback highlights the hospital’s clean facilities, professional staff, and affordable services. Patients appreciate the low consultation fees, often as little as Rs. 50-60. However, some concerns remain regarding waiting times during peak hours and clarity on pricing for orthodontic treatments like braces and retainers.
Despite such challenges, Samaj Dental Hospital continues to play a pioneering role in improving oral health services in Nepal. With its expansion, outreach programs, and social welfare initiatives, the hospital is seen as a growing model of how private healthcare can combine affordability with social responsibility.
