Kathmandu, Nepal - Himalaya Motrox Pvt. Ltd., the authorized importer and distributor of MAXUS vehicles in Nepal, has officially launched the MAXUS eTERRON 9 Comfort, introducing what the company describes as Nepal's first all-electric 4WD premium pickup truck. The vehicle has been unveiled with a special introductory price of NPR 8.8 million (88 lakh), available exclusively for the first 50 customers.
According to the company's media release, the MAXUS eTERRON 9 Comfort is designed to cater to both everyday driving and demanding professional applications by combining zero-emission mobility with robust performance and advanced technology.
The electric pickup is powered by a 102.2 kWh battery pack, delivering a NEDC driving range of up to 560 kilometres on a full charge. It supports DC fast charging from 20% to 80% in approximately 42 minutes and offers a maximum power output of 325 kW. The vehicle accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.8 seconds and produces 700 Nm of torque, enabling a towing capacity of up to 3,500 kg.
Built for practical utility, the eTERRON 9 features a 1,561 mm × 1,500 mm × 535 mm cargo bed, a 236-litre front trunk (frunk), and a payload capacity of up to 1,050 kg. The company states that the vehicle also offers a 34-degree approach angle, a 25-degree departure angle, and air suspension, making it suitable for Nepal's diverse road and terrain conditions.
Inside, the pickup is equipped with premium features including Nappa leather seats, massage, heating and ventilation functions, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch central touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a premium audio system, a panoramic sunroof, a multifunction steering wheel, wireless phone charging, and vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality.
On the safety front, the MAXUS eTERRON 9 Comfort has received a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating and comes with a comprehensive suite of safety technologies. These include Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Hill Start Assist, Hill Descent Control, Blind Spot Detection, a 360-degree camera, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), seven airbags, and front and rear parking sensors.
Himalaya Motrox is also providing an extensive warranty package comprising an 8-year or 200,000 km battery warranty, a 5-year or 160,000 km vehicle warranty, and three years of free servicing. The company added that customers who reserve the vehicle during the introductory period will continue to receive the promotional price regardless of any future adjustments.
The launch reflects the growing momentum of Nepal's electric vehicle market, particularly in the premium utility vehicle segment, where demand for high-performance, zero-emission transport solutions continues to increase.
