Government, Private Sector Renew Commitment to Revive Nepal's Economy

Kathmandu, July 8 - The Government of Nepal has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the country's economic recovery by engaging directly with private sector representatives on issues related to industry, investment, and economic reforms.
During a high-level meeting held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers on Wednesday, Prime Minister Balendra Shah discussed measures to stimulate economic activity, accelerate industrial and business operations, and foster a more investment-friendly environment. The discussions focused on removing policy and procedural barriers, improving the confidence of the private sector, increasing domestic production, and creating employment opportunities.
Prime Minister Shah emphasized that the private sector remains a key partner in Nepal's economic development and assured participants that the government would pursue necessary policy, legal, and administrative reforms to improve the business climate. He also stated that recommendations put forward during the meeting would be taken seriously and implemented through the relevant government agencies.
Representatives from the private sector highlighted the need for stronger policy stability, expanded investment opportunities, simplified public service delivery, and regular, result-oriented dialogue between the government and businesses. They stressed that a predictable regulatory environment and effective public-private collaboration are essential for restoring business confidence and accelerating economic growth.
The dialogue reflects the government's broader efforts to revitalize Nepal's economy by encouraging private investment, promoting productive industries, and strengthening cooperation with the business community. Analysts note that sustained policy implementation and continued engagement with stakeholders will be crucial to translating these commitments into tangible economic outcomes.
