Kathmandu, August 28 - Embark College has introduced two new initiatives - the Embark Apprenticeship Program and the Startup Capacity Building Program - aimed at addressing the persistent gap between business education and employment opportunities in Nepal.
According to Ashish Thakur, Executive Director and CEO of Embark College, the programs are designed to help graduates transition smoothly from academic learning to professional careers. “By directly linking business education with industry, these initiatives will set a new benchmark for career-focused education in Nepal,” he said.
The Apprenticeship Program guarantees employment for qualified graduates through structured partnerships with industries and businesses in Nepal. The program includes professional guidance, mentorship, skill development, and long-term career opportunities. Graduates will undergo skills assessment, submission of verified documents, and structured interviews before being placed in relevant industries.
Meanwhile, the Startup Capacity Building Program targets innovative businesses less than 10 years old with an annual turnover of less than 15 million rupees. It will provide strategic mentorship and support in line with Nepal’s National Startup Policy 2080 and the Industrial Enterprise Act 2076. Key requirements include legal registration, financial statements, a strong business plan, and due diligence.
Highlighting the scope of the initiative, Mr. Thakur noted: “The potential for entrepreneurship in Nepal is immense, but access to strategic resources is limited. Our program emphasizes holistic capacity building to turn innovation into sustainable business models.”
These initiatives are expected to strengthen Nepal’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, reduce reliance on imports, and promote local innovation and technological advancement.
Embark College, based in Pulchowk, Lalitpur, is recognized as a leading institution for international business education, offering programs such as BSc in Business Management, MBA, and ACCA. Its mission is to nurture business leaders who can drive Nepal’s economic growth and innovation.
