Kathmandu, Nepal - Ambassador Danielle Meuwly of Switzerland inaugurated the Knowledge Dissemination Seminar and Exhibition of the Swiss-funded Motorable Local Roads Bridge Programme (MLRB-P) Phase IV. This event, a testament to 14 years of impactful collaboration between the Governments of Nepal and Switzerland, highlighted key learnings, innovations, and milestones achieved in rural infrastructure development.
The MLRB-P initiative, launched with the goal of enhancing accessibility and mobility in Nepal's remote areas, has successfully delivered 851 motorable bridges across the country. These bridges have significantly improved connectivity, fostering economic growth and improving the quality of life in rural communities.
Ambassador Meuwly, speaking at the seminar, praised the enduring partnership and its transformative impact, stating, "This collaboration embodies the essence of development, where shared expertise and commitment lead to tangible benefits for the people."
The seminar featured exhibitions and discussions on the program's technological innovations, sustainable practices, and community-centered approaches.
