Kathmandu, July 8 - Construction of the desander section at the 50 MW Marshyangdi Besi Hydropower Project has reached a significant milestone, reflecting steady progress in one of Nepal's important renewable energy infrastructure projects.
The latest construction update shows major civil works underway, with reinforced concrete structures taking shape and a large workforce engaged in simultaneous activities at the project site. Excavation, reinforcement installation, formwork, and concrete works are progressing in parallel, highlighting the project's continued momentum.
The desander is a critical component of a hydropower plant. It removes sand, silt, and other abrasive sediments carried by river water before it enters the turbines.
