Pokhara, Nepal: Direct flights between Pokhara and Dubai have completed their first month of operation, marking a positive milestone for Nepal’s tourism industry and international air connectivity.
On Friday, the third day of Dashain, 146 passengers arrived at Pokhara International Airport from Dubai, while 90 passengers departed from Pokhara for Dubai, reflecting continued passenger movement on the international route.
The direct service offers an important international connection for Pokhara, a major tourism hub known for its natural beauty, adventure tourism, and proximity to the Annapurna region. Improved air connectivity can make travel more convenient for international visitors, strengthen links with overseas markets, and create opportunities for local businesses and the wider tourism sector.
Through Flydubai and its partner airline, Emirates, passengers can also access more than 300 destinations worldwide using a single ticket, offering greater convenience for onward international travel.
The continuation of the Pokhara–Dubai direct flight service is an encouraging development for Nepal as it seeks to diversify its tourism markets, expand international connections, and strengthen the contribution of tourism to the national economy.
Sustaining the route over the long term will depend on passenger demand, reliable operations, effective tourism promotion, and coordination among airlines, tourism businesses, and relevant authorities.
For Pokhara and Nepal as a whole, stronger international air connectivity represents an opportunity to attract more visitors, support local livelihoods, and position the country more prominently on the global tourism map.
