Kathmandu, Nepal - A significant boost to Nepal’s renewable energy sector is on the horizon as the Seti Khola Hydropower Project, backed by Dolma Impact Fund, approaches its final stage of completion. The project is expected to generate 22 megawatts (MW) of clean and renewable electricity, with power flow to the national grid anticipated in the near future.
Dolma Impact Fund, known for its investments in sustainable infrastructure and renewable energy in Nepal, has highlighted the project as a milestone in advancing environmentally responsible development. The Seti Khola initiative aligns with Nepal’s long-term strategy to harness its vast hydropower potential while reducing dependence on fossil fuels.
Hydropower remains a cornerstone of Nepal’s energy mix, and projects like Seti Khola play a crucial role in strengthening energy security, especially during periods of high demand. The addition of 22MW capacity is expected to contribute to improved electricity reliability for households and industries, while also supporting the country’s ambitions for clean energy export.
Beyond energy generation, the project is also anticipated to create local employment opportunities during its operational phase and contribute to regional economic growth. At the same time, stakeholders emphasize the importance of maintaining ecological balance, ensuring that hydropower development proceeds with proper environmental safeguards.FB_IMG_1777368413503-1777368610.jpg
As Nepal continues to position itself as a leader in renewable energy in South Asia, the upcoming launch of the Seti Khola Hydropower Project marks another step forward in sustainable development and climate resilience.
