Land Acquisition Begins for Trishuli-3B Ratmate-Galchhi Transmission Line Project

Kathmandu, Nepal - The formal process of land acquisition has commenced for the Trishuli-3B Ratmate-Galchhi 220 kV transmission line project, a major initiative aimed at strengthening the electricity supply infrastructure in Nuwakot and Dhading districts.
The District Administration Office in Nuwakot officially announced the start of the land acquisition procedure on Magh 24, underlining that the process is being carried out in accordance with the Land Acquisition Act, 2034 (1977).
This transmission line project, developed through joint investment by the Government of Nepal and the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), is a crucial component of efforts to improve the reliability and reach of the national power grid. The project involves establishing high-voltage transmission towers, necessitating the permanent acquisition of land along the proposed corridor.
According to the public notice issued by the administration, landowners and other stakeholders affected by the project have been invited to submit their claims and objections within 15 days from the date of publication. Applicants are required to attach supporting documents proving land ownership or lawful possession. Additionally, a revenue stamp worth NPR 10 must be affixed to each application.
The District Administration Office has emphasized that any applications not submitted within the stipulated timeframe will be processed according to legal provisions.
Officials highlighted that the timely completion of the project will depend on active cooperation from local communities and relevant authorities. They encouraged affected residents to engage constructively and seek detailed information from the designated project office.
The Ratmate-Galchhi transmission line is expected to play a significant role in enhancing electricity stability in the region, reducing outages, and supporting future economic development by improving energy infrastructure.
