Kathmandu, January 13, 2026 - Chhyangdi Hydropower Limited has successfully concluded its 12th Annual General Meeting (AGM), marking another milestone in the company’s journey within Nepal’s hydropower sector.
Originally incorporated as Chhyangdi Hydropower Private Limited on 2064/05/16 BS, the company was later converted into a public company under the name Chhyangdi Hydropower Limited on 2071/03/30 BS. Since its establishment, the company has remained focused on the optimum utilization of water resources for hydropower generation, contributing to Nepal’s growing demand for clean and renewable energy.
The AGM reviewed the company’s progress and reaffirmed its core objective of generating hydroelectricity through sustainable and efficient use of available water resources. The management emphasized that hydropower remains a vital pillar for ensuring national energy security while supporting Nepal’s transition toward environmentally responsible energy solutions.
By prioritizing the effective use of water for electricity generation, Chhyangdi Hydropower Limited aims to support the country’s long-term development goals, reduce dependency on energy imports, and strengthen domestic power supply.
The successful completion of the 12th AGM reflects the company’s commitment to transparent corporate governance and its continued role in advancing Nepal’s hydropower potential through responsible private-sector participation.
