Kathmandu, Nepal - Sanvi Energy Limited (SEL), a private-sector hydropower company working to expand renewable energy generation in eastern Nepal, successfully concluded its 6th Annual General Meeting (AGM) today.
Established in 2011 A.D., Sanvi Energy Ltd. was founded with the vision of promoting hydropower development in Nepal through private sector investment, contributing to the country’s growing demand for clean and sustainable energy. Since its inception, the company has been actively engaged in developing hydropower projects that align with national energy priorities and regional development goals.
At present, SEL is implementing two hydropower projects in Ilam District of the Eastern Development Region. These include the Jogmai Khola Small Hydroelectric Project (7.6 MW) and the Jogmai Cascade Hydroelectric Project (5.2 MW). The projects are located across Suryodaya Municipality wards 10 and 11, Maijogmai Rural Municipality wards 1, 3, and 4, and Ilam Municipality ward 10.
During the AGM, shareholders reviewed the company’s overall progress, ongoing project status, and future plans related to hydropower development in the region. The meeting also provided a platform to discuss institutional matters in line with regulatory requirements and corporate governance practices.
Sanvi Energy Ltd. reiterated its commitment to responsible hydropower development, emphasizing the importance of balancing energy production with environmental protection and local community engagement. The company’s projects in Ilam are expected to contribute to regional electricity supply while supporting local infrastructure development and employment.IMG_20260113_152741-1768297435.jpg
