Baglung, June 16 - A landslide that occurred late Sunday night in Seldanda, Jaimini Municipality-10, Debaldhara, has endangered four families and obstructed a major road in the area.
The landslide originated from Dandakhet, situated above the Baglung-Shantipur road section, and has left the house and shed of local resident Bhim Bahadur Shrees at high risk. Additionally, the homes of Jayaram Acharya, Ramsagar Sharma, and Ekaraj Sharma have been severely impacted, according to Bharat Shrees, the acting chairperson of Ward 10.
"The land above the houses is cracking, and a landslide could strike the settlement below at any moment," Acting Chairperson Shrees stated.
The affected families, consisting of 12 individuals, are now living in fear, uncertain of their safety. Meanwhile, the landslide has completely obstructed the Baglung-Shantipur road, cutting off transportation and essential access for residents in the area.
Authorities have dispatched a police team to the site to assess the situation and provide support. However, immediate action is required to address the increasing vulnerability of the affected households and to clear the road for public use.
