East Siang, Arunachal Pradesh: Authorities have conducted an on-site assessment of flood-affected areas across East Siang district to evaluate the extent of the damage and understand the immediate needs of affected communities.
The visit brought together officials and local representatives, including the Circle Officer (CO), District Disaster Management Officer (DDMO), Executive Engineer of the Power Department, Officer-in-Charge of Pasighat, Zila Parishad Members, and other stakeholders. The delegation inspected flood-hit locations and interacted directly with affected families to gain first-hand insight into the challenges they are facing.
The assessment revealed significant damage caused by the flooding, with many residents experiencing losses to homes, infrastructure, and livelihoods. Officials described the situation as deeply concerning and emphasized the need for coordinated efforts to support affected communities.
During the visit, a strong appeal was made to the district administration to expedite relief and rehabilitation measures, ensuring that every affected family receives essential assistance, including food, shelter, healthcare, and other emergency support without delay.
Residents have also been urged to remain alert, follow official advisories issued by the district administration, and stay in safe locations until flood conditions improve. Authorities continue to monitor the situation while response teams work to address the immediate humanitarian needs of the affected population.FB_IMG_1783564231603-1783564431.jpg
