According to the latest international climate monitoring reports, July 2026 recorded the warmest global sea-surface temperatures ever observed for the month of July, exceeding previous records set in recent years. The extraordinary ocean warmth has been linked to widespread marine heatwaves affecting parts of the Atlantic Ocean, Pacific Ocean, and the western Mediterranean.
