Kathmandu, June 29: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) hosted the 5th Edition of the Prof. Yadu Nath Khanal Lecture Series in Kathmandu on Monday, bringing together policymakers, diplomats, lawmakers, and foreign affairs experts to discuss Nepal's foreign policy in the context of rapidly evolving global geopolitical and geoeconomic developments.

The lecture series was held under the theme "Foreign Policy of Nepal: Navigating Geopolitical and Geoeconomic Trends."

Delivering the keynote address, former Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai highlighted the profound transformations reshaping the international order. He pointed to the intensifying competition among major powers, the increasing influence of economic instruments and technological advancements in international relations, and the implications these developments hold for Nepal's foreign policy priorities and strategic choices.

In his concluding remarks, Minister for Foreign Affairs Shisir Khanal stressed that Nepal must respond to the changing global environment with clarity, confidence, and prudence. He emphasized that the country's foreign policy should remain firmly rooted in Nepal's national interests while advancing the aspirations and well-being of its people.

The programme was attended by ministers, members of parliament, former ministers, heads of diplomatic missions, government officials, and other distinguished guests. To encourage broader public engagement, the event was also livestreamed through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' official Facebook and YouTube platforms.

The Prof. Yadu Nath Khanal Lecture Series serves as an important platform for dialogue on Nepal's foreign policy, offering opportunities for informed discussion on the country's diplomatic priorities in an increasingly complex global landscape.
