Nawalparasi, June 28 - The construction of the Khajura Khola Bridge connecting Wards 5 and 16 of Bardaghat Municipality in West Nawalparasi has entered its final phase, according to a statement issued by Binod Chaudhary the previously elected house of representative who had pledged to build the bridge during the 2022 House of Representatives election.
In the statement, he expressed gratitude to the people of Nawalparasi for their trust and support, saying the bridge project was included in the Government of Nepal's budget following continued efforts and is expected to be completed within the current fiscal year 2082/83 (2025/26).
According to the statement, more than 90 percent of the construction work has already been completed. The bridge is expected to improve transportation by connecting Bardaghat Wards 5 and 16, making travel safer and more convenient for local residents while supporting the area's long-term socio-economic development.
He described the project as more than a physical structure, stating that it represents an effort to fulfil a commitment made to the people during the election. The statement also credited the progress to the collective cooperation of local residents, local government bodies, and government agencies.
The Khajura Khola Bridge project had previously experienced delays due to budget constraints before construction resumed.
