Moderate to Heavy Rainfall Reported in Nuwakot as Temperatures Rise Across Nepal
Ecosphere News Desk
Ecosphere News Desk 2026-05-16 15:07:38

Kathmandu, Nepal - Moderate to heavy rainfall has been reported in parts of Nuwakot district of Bagmati Province, bringing temporary relief from rising temperatures and dry weather conditions affecting several regions of Nepal. Weather-related changes have been observed as pre-monsoon atmospheric activities continue to influence the country’s climate patterns.
According to available weather updates, rainfall activity in Nuwakot has increased local moisture levels and contributed to cooler conditions in some surrounding areas. However, temperatures are simultaneously rising across most parts of the country, especially in the Terai and urban regions, where hot and humid conditions have been intensifying over recent days.
Meteorological observations indicate that fluctuating weather patterns, including localized rainfall, thunderstorms, and increasing heat, are likely to continue during the ongoing pre-monsoon period. Experts often associate such conditions with seasonal transitions before the arrival of the summer monsoon in Nepal.
Authorities generally advise the public to remain cautious during periods of intense rainfall, particularly in hilly areas vulnerable to slippery roads, landslides, and sudden water flow in streams and rivers. Likewise, residents in hotter regions are encouraged to stay hydrated and avoid prolonged exposure to extreme heat during daytime hours.
The changing weather conditions also hold significance for agriculture, water resources, and disaster preparedness sectors, as Nepal gradually approaches the monsoon season.
