Fire Control Exercise Conducted at Tribhuvan International Airport to Strengthen Emergency Preparedness

Kathmandu - Security personnel conducted a controlled fire suppression exercise within the premises of Tribhuvan International Airport, demonstrating preparedness to respond effectively to potential aviation emergencies.
The image shows a large, intentionally ignited fire producing thick black smoke, while trained firefighters in protective gear actively worked to contain and extinguish the blaze using hoses and coordinated techniques. The exercise simulated a high-risk scenario, allowing airport emergency teams to practice rapid response, coordination, and fire control under realistic conditions.
According to airport safety protocols, such drills are essential for ensuring readiness in case of aircraft incidents, fuel fires, or other emergencies that could threaten passengers, staff, and infrastructure. The exercise also helps evaluate the efficiency of communication systems, response time, and the effectiveness of firefighting equipment.
Tribhuvan International Airport, Nepal’s primary international gateway, regularly conducts safety drills in line with international aviation standards. These simulations are crucial for maintaining compliance with global aviation safety requirements and for minimizing risks associated with air travel.FB_IMG_1773728160780-1773728305.jpg
Experts emphasize that routine emergency exercises not only enhance the skills of response teams but also contribute to building public confidence in airport safety systems. With increasing air traffic and operational demands, such preparedness measures remain a critical component of aviation management.
