Field Visit Strengthens Urban Environment Learning at Budhanilkantha Municipality

Budhanilkantha, Kathmandu - Students of the M.Sc. Environmental Management (Second Semester) undertaking the Urban Environment Management course recently carried out a field visit to Budhanilkantha Municipality, turning academic concepts into practical learning experiences.
The visit aimed to expose students to the realities of urban environmental management beyond textbooks. During the interaction, students engaged directly with local shop owners, residents, and members of the public, discussing everyday environmental concerns such as waste management practices, sanitation challenges, urban cleanliness, and community participation in maintaining a healthy urban environment.
Through these conversations, students gained valuable insights into how municipal policies and urban planning decisions affect local livelihoods and environmental quality at the community level.
