Kathmandu - At a time when Nepal’s young population is searching for meaningful and dignified employment, vocational education is emerging as a powerful bridge between learning and earning. The Enhanced Skills for Sustainable and Rewarding Employment (ENSSURE II) program, implemented with technical support from Helvetas Nepal, is demonstrating how market-relevant skills can directly transform lives.
The image from the ENSSURE success story booklet captures more than a training environment-it reflects a quiet but significant shift in Nepal’s workforce development. A young trainee, confidently working with electronic components, represents thousands of youths who are gaining practical, employable skills aligned with market demand rather than theoretical knowledge alone.
ENSSURE II focuses on equipping young women and men with industry-relevant technical skills, improving their employability and income prospects in a challenging labor market. The program places strong emphasis on inclusion, ensuring that youth from diverse and often marginalized backgrounds can access quality vocational training and transition into decent work or self-employment.
