Pokhara is set to welcome a significant addition to its hospitality landscape with the opening of Himalayan Hideaway Resort Pokhara, The Centara Collection, on January 1, 2026. Located on the tranquil hills of Kaskikot, the resort marks the first entry of a Thai luxury hotel brand in Pokhara, expanding the presence of international hospitality brands in Nepal’s tourism sector.
Operated under Centara Hotels & Resorts, one of Thailand’s leading hospitality groups, the resort combines Thai-inspired service philosophy with local Nepali design elements and the natural grandeur of the central Himalayas. Positioned away from the crowded lakeside area, the property offers panoramic views of the Annapurna range and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), reflecting a growing trend toward experiential and nature-integrated tourism in Pokhara.
The resort features 42 rooms, suites, and villas, designed to accommodate couples, families, and group travelers. Architectural elements include wooden interiors, open skylights, private gardens, and expansive balconies, emphasizing harmony with the surrounding environment. Facilities at the resort include an all-day dining restaurant, a bar and lounge, an outdoor swimming pool, a fully equipped gym, a specialty Pan-Asian restaurant, and a scenic tea house.
Beyond accommodation, the resort offers curated experiences that connect guests with Pokhara’s natural and cultural landscape. These include paragliding over Phewa Lake, trekking routes such as the Annapurna Base Camp, guided village walks along the Sarangkot Loop Trail, as well as wellness-focused activities like yoga and spa therapies at Cense by SPA Cenvaree.
To mark its launch, Himalayan Hideaway Resort Pokhara has announced a special opening package for Nepali guests, priced at NPR 25,000 nett per night on a bed-and-breakfast basis. The offer also includes a 10 percent discount on food and spa services and complimentary afternoon tea, valid until March 31, 2026.
Speaking on the occasion, Prapaijit Thongma, General Manager, stated that the opening represents a new chapter for luxury hospitality in Pokhara. He emphasized the resort’s intention to offer an experience beyond the conventional lakeside stay, blending Nepalese warmth with Thai hospitality traditions in a refined mountain setting.
In addition to luxury tourism, the resort highlights a social enterprise approach, aiming to support local livelihoods and contribute to community wellbeing in Kaskikot and surrounding areas. According to the management, economic value generated by the resort will be partially reinvested locally, aligning tourism growth with sustainable and inclusive development.
With this development, Centara Hotels & Resorts further strengthens its footprint in Nepal, positioning Pokhara as an emerging destination for high-end, experience-driven tourism. The opening of Himalayan Hideaway Resort Pokhara reflects broader shifts in Nepal’s tourism sector toward sustainability, wellness, and culturally rooted hospitality.
