Shivam Cement Concludes 10th AGM, Highlights Expansion, Sustainability and Industry Leadership

Kathmandu, Nepal - Shivam Cement Limited, one of Nepal’s largest and most technologically advanced cement manufacturers, successfully concluded its 10th Annual General Meeting (AGM) today, reaffirming its commitment to quality production, sustainable operations, and strengthened national self-reliance in the cement sector.

Established in 2003 and commencing commercial production in 2011, Shivam Cement has grown into the country’s largest Greenfield cement manufacturing project. Operating with 100% Nepali investment, the company holds the distinction of being Nepal’s first public limited cement company listed on the stock exchange following its conversion to a public entity in 2015.

A Leading Force in Nepal’s Cement Industry

Shivam Cement currently produces 3000 TPD (tons per day) of cement and 1900 TPD of clinker, supported entirely by its self-owned high-quality limestone quarries in Hetauda. These deposits consist of low alkali, magnesia, and chloride levels-characteristics essential for ensuring long-term concrete durability.

In its early years, Shivam Cement took a bold step to reduce Nepal’s dependence on imported cement, notably from India, by pioneering high-grade domestic production. It began with OPC 43 Grade cement, later expanding to OPC 53 Grade, aligning Nepal’s cement market with global standards and significantly contributing to reduced import volume.

Advanced European Technology and Environmental Priority

The company’s Hetauda plant is equipped with state-of-the-art German and Danish technologies, including systems by Thyssen-Krupp, FLSmidth, ABB, and Siemens. Digital kiln and mill control systems ensure precision, efficiency, and consistent cement fineness-allowing Shivam to maintain a leading position in quality.

As part of its sustainability commitments, Shivam Cement has made substantial investments in pollution-control infrastructure. Its dust and smoke management systems align with global environmental norms, reinforcing the company’s pledge toward green and responsible industrial practices.

AGM Highlights: Growth, Performance, and Future Outlook

During the 10th AGM, shareholders reviewed the company’s performance over the past year, acknowledging its steady growth trajectory and strong market presence. Shivam Cement continues to be recognized as one of Nepal’s fastest-growing and most reliable manufacturers, bolstered by its innovation-driven production model and long-term resource security.

The company reiterated its mission to support sustainable national infrastructure development, ensuring that future construction projects-from urban expansion to hydropower-benefit from consistently high-grade, domestically produced cement.

A Pillar for Nepal’s Economic Development

With extensive investment in technology, human resources, and infrastructure, Shivam Cement remains a crucial contributor to Nepal’s industrial landscape. Its success story reflects the potential of homegrown enterprises in driving economic progress, reducing import dependency, and promoting environmentally sound industrialization.

As the company marks the conclusion of its 10th AGM, Shivam Cement signals continued innovation, stronger market outreach, and an unwavering commitment to supporting Nepal’s development with world-class cement products
