Domestic Tourists Flock to Nagarkot View Tower for Himalayan Vistas

Nagarkot, December 6, 2025
Domestic tourists were seen visiting the Nagarkot View Tower, reaffirming the hill station’s enduring appeal as one of Nepal’s most accessible natural viewpoints. Situated on the border of Kavrepalanchok and Bhaktapur districts, Nagarkot continues to attract visitors seeking a peaceful escape and sweeping mountain scenery within close reach of the Kathmandu Valley.

Nagarkot is primarily renowned for its dramatic sunrise and sunset views over the Himalayas. On clear days, visitors can witness an expansive mountain panorama that may include Mount Everest along with other prominent peaks of the eastern Himalayan range. These moments-often accompanied by changing hues of light across the mountains and valley-remain the area’s strongest draw.

The Nagarkot View Tower, standing at the highest point in the locality, offers travellers the most unobstructed and elevated perspective of the surrounding landscape. From the tower, visitors can observe the layered Himalayan skyline on one side and the Kathmandu Valley unfolding below on the other, making it a focal point for photographers, nature enthusiasts, and casual travellers alike.

Local stakeholders note that the steady flow of domestic tourists reflects a growing interest in short-distance travel destinations that combine natural beauty, open space, and modest infrastructure. Such destinations play an important role in sustaining local economies while promoting appreciation for Nepal’s natural heritage.FB_IMG_1765028542683-1765029962.jpg

As domestic tourism continues to gain momentum, Nagarkot’s popularity highlights both the opportunities and responsibilities linked with managing fragile hill environments-balancing visitor access with the need for conservation and sustainable tourism practices.
