The Interior Designers’ Association of Nepal (IDEA) successfully convened its 22nd Annual General Meeting, reaffirming its commitment to advancing the country’s interior design profession while embracing ethical and sustainable practices.
Addressing the gathering, IDEA President Mr. Shyam Bahadur Shrestha emphasized the crucial role of creativity, skill, and client-focused innovation in shaping the industry. He noted that interior design is more than aesthetics; it reflects functionality, culture, and responsibility toward society and the environment.
“Interior designing is a profession that requires creativity, skill, and a deep understanding of the needs and desires of our clients. Our association is committed to fostering the development of these qualities among our members, as well as promoting ethical and sustainable practices,” said Mr. Shrestha in his presidential message.
The meeting brought together IDEA members, professionals, and stakeholders to reflect on achievements, share experiences, and chart future strategies. Discussions also highlighted the need for collaboration, capacity building, and the adoption of sustainable design approaches that align with global environmental goals.
With Nepal’s interior design sector gradually expanding in both residential and commercial spaces, the association aims to strengthen professional standards and enhance the visibility of Nepalese designers in the international market.
The 22nd AGM marked another milestone in IDEA’s journey, showcasing its dedication to uniting designers, nurturing young talents, and positioning interior design as an essential contributor to sustainable urban development in Nepal.
