Kathmandu, July 14, 2025 - A powerful wave of youth leadership is making headlines as 13 vibrant young changemakers from Nepal prepare to represent the country at the prestigious Youth Assembly 2025, being held in Cebu, Philippines. These trailblazers are affiliated with 11 dynamic youth-led organizations and are set to make a significant mark on regional and global conversations around sustainable development and housing rights.
The delegation from Nepal has not only secured a place at this year’s assembly but also achieved an exceptional milestone - making it to the Top 40 finalists of the Habitat Youth Solutions 2025 challenge. These finalists now stand a chance to win USD 4,000 in seed funding along with expert mentorship to scale their housing-related initiatives.
Each proposal submitted by the Nepali youth addresses pressing housing challenges linked to climate change, urban poverty, and disaster resilience, and they are all grounded in the real-life experiences and aspirations of young people aged 18 to 30. These innovative solutions are crafted to strengthen communities and contribute to inclusive, climate-resilient urban development in Nepal and beyond.
The participating organizations include Open Knowledge Nepal, Catalyst For Change Nepal, Youth Initiative, All In Foundation, and others who have collectively nurtured a culture of action-oriented civic engagement. Their commitment to solving real-world problems has placed Nepal firmly on the map of global youth leadership.
The Youth Assembly and the Habitat Youth Solutions platform, hosted by Habitat for Humanity Asia-Pacific, are critical spaces for learning, networking, and advocacy. Through this event, youth from across Asia are empowered to influence policies and projects that create a future where adequate housing is a right, not a privilege.
As these young Nepali leaders prepare to showcase their work, learn from their peers, and collaborate with global experts, they carry with them not just their dreams but the hopes of communities across Nepal that are striving for a more just and sustainable future.
Ecosphere News extends best wishes to this incredible delegation - may their voices inspire solutions and their actions ignite change.
