Kathmandu - In a gesture symbolizing the deepening friendship between Nepal and Pakistan, the Embassy of Pakistan in Nepal awarded scholarships to 195 students from 102 schools across the country. The awards were distributed during the 13th Ambassador's Annual Scholarship event held in Kathmandu on Thursday.
The scholarship program, initiated in 2013, has become a cornerstone of educational collaboration between the two nations. This year, in addition to scholarships, a laptop was presented to a high-achieving student for their consistent academic excellence.
Speaking at the event, Ek Nath Dhakal, Chairperson of Nepal Pariwar Dal, lauded Pakistan's ongoing technical and educational assistance to Nepal. He emphasized that such initiatives strengthen the bilateral relationship and inspire youth from both countries to cultivate shared values and understanding.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to Nepal, Abrar H. Hashmi, reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to supporting education at all levels in Nepal, highlighting plans to extend cooperation to higher secondary education and beyond. He also underscored the importance of encouraging Nepali youth in academics, sports, and social health activities as a critical aspect of fostering bilateral goodwill.
This year’s scholarships reflect a broader commitment to nurturing future generations and solidifying the enduring ties between the two countries. As Pakistan continues its educational support programs, the initiative serves as a bridge for mutual cooperation and cultural exchange.
