Dhadingbesi, June 15 - Neelkantha Municipality organized the “Second Youth Skills, Training, and Employment Fair 2082” to promote skill development, training, and employment opportunities for the local youth. The event, held at the premises of Neelkantha Bal Mandir Secondary School, highlighted the municipality’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and empowering its young population.

Inaugurating the fair, Mayor Bhim Prasad Dhungana, who is also the president of the Municipal Association of Nepal, expressed the municipality’s vision of transforming Neelkantha into a hub of entrepreneurship. He emphasized the importance of connecting skills with entrepreneurship, production, and labor to create sustainable opportunities for youth.

The fair, organized under the municipality’s "Deputy Mayor’s Program with Youth," aimed to attract young individuals to entrepreneurship and enhance local production and employment opportunities. Deputy Mayor  Dipak Bishwakarma highlighted the significance of youth engagement in skill-based economic activities, noting that last year, the municipality trained 675 individuals and connected them to employment.

Showcasing Local Creativity and Talent
The event featured an exhibition of locally produced goods and handicrafts, showcasing items created by self-employed youth. Products such as Dhaka shawls, caps, boutique clothing, bamboo baskets, pickles, handmade beauty items, and other artisan crafts were displayed and available for sale. These exhibits not only reflected the creativity and skills of the local youth but also emphasized the potential of entrepreneurship in driving economic growth.

Engaging the Youth for a Brighter Future
A special survey titled "What Would You Like to Learn?" allowed participants to indicate their preferences for future training and skill development. Hundreds of youths filled out the forms, sharing their interests and needs, which will be used to shape the municipality’s future policies and training programs.

The fair also included motivational sessions and panel discussions with experts from various fields, aimed at inspiring young individuals to participate in training programs and explore income-generating activities. Around 25 stalls were set up to provide information and showcase opportunities available to attendees.IMG_20250615_143043-1749977216.jpg

Neelkantha Municipality’s initiative reflects a strong commitment to youth empowerment and economic growth through skill development and entrepreneurship. This annual event has become a cornerstone for creating sustainable employment opportunities and fostering a culture of innovation and self-reliance in the region.
