Kathmandu, June 9, 2025: The Human Rights Journal ‘Sambahak’ held a review and discussion program at Alfa House, Baneshwor. The event, organized to critically assess the journal's form, content, and processes, was chaired by the Honorable Chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission, Top Bahadur Magar.
Prominent figures, including Hon. Member Mihir Thakur and Secretary Murari Prasad Kharel, who are members of the advisory board of ‘Sambahak,’ provided valuable remarks and reiterated their commitment to enhancing the journal's impact. Honorable Justice Tek Narayan Kunwar, Chairperson of the Special Court of Nepal, delivered an insightful review of the journal, emphasizing its relevance in promoting human rights discourses in Nepal.
The program saw participation from distinguished guests representing universities, academic institutions, and media houses. Their feedback and suggestions highlighted the potential for further enriching the quality and outreach of ‘Sambahak.’
Durga Pokharel, Member-Secretary of the Editorial Board, facilitated the program, while the welcome address was delivered by Samjhana Sharma, Joint Secretary and Coordinator of the Editorial Board. Anish Kumar Paudel, a member of the editorial board, presented an overview of the journal's journey and achievements to date.
The event marked a significant step towards fostering dialogue and strengthening the journal as a platform for advocating human rights issues in Nepal.
