Dharan, May 29 - A three-day workshop titled "Youth Leadership: Commitment in Action" commenced today in Dharan, drawing enthusiastic participation from over 30 young boys and girls from diverse communities in the city.
The workshop aims to bolster the leadership capacity of youth by fostering their commitment to civic engagement and enhancing their role in urban governance. Participants will gain foundational knowledge of institutional development to strengthen youth networks and deepen their understanding of urban governance systems, particularly focusing on the roles and responsibilities of citizens in shaping equitable communities.
A key highlight of the workshop is its focus on the strategic use of digital civic media. This practical approach ensures that the youth are not only informed but also empowered to drive actionable change in their neighborhoods.
Renowned trainer Mr. Sahadev Mahat is facilitating the sessions, leveraging his extensive experience to inspire and guide the young leaders.
The workshop is organized as part of the project "Co-constructing Neighbourhoods Fit for Diverse Young People: Civic Media Technologies for Equitable Urban Governance (YCIV)".
