Active in Green Hydrogen National Science Technology and Innovation Award to Dr. Thapa

Associate Professor of Kathmandu University who has been working in green hydrogen technology for a long time. Dr. Viraj Singh Thapa has been rewarded by National Science Technology and Innovation Award 2024.

He is known as a leading figure in the field of green hydrogen in Nepal. He has made a special contribution in the production, storage and use of green hydrogen. Moreover, he is playing a role in making policy rules related to hydrogen.

The Green Hydrogen Lab under his leadership produced hydrogen for the first time in Nepal. It confirmed that renewable energy hydrogen can be produced from wasted electricity in Nepal. On his initiative, a hydrogen car was brought from South Korea for the first time in Nepal.

As a key note speaker on the occasion of the 12th National Science Day, themed "Science and Technology: Development and Production Growth'' Dr. Prativa Pandey focused on the critical need for fostering the right environment and mindset to accelerate Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) in Nepal.
