Kathmandu, May 4: Several regions of Nepal are currently experiencing weather disturbances, with rainfall and thunderstorms reported across multiple provinces. According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD), areas in Gandaki Province are seeing significant rainfall, while parts of Lumbini Province, Bagmati Province, and Koshi Province are also affected.
The storm systems, accompanied by thunder and lightning, are moving from west to east. This pattern indicates that light to moderate rainfall, along with thunder and lightning, may soon impact additional areas of Gandaki, Bagmati, and Koshi Provinces, as well as certain parts of Madhesh Province.
Meteorologists have urged the public to take necessary precautions during these weather conditions, particularly to avoid risks associated with lightning strikes and localized flooding.
As of now, the MFD has provided real-time rainfall data on its website, showcasing precipitation levels recorded over the past hour. The department advises residents to stay updated with the latest forecasts and warnings through their official portal: https://dhm.gov.np/mfd/#/.
This developing weather system serves as a reminder of Nepal’s vulnerability to rapid climatic changes, particularly during the transitional months. Ecosphere News will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates.
