Local Governments in Jajarkot and Rukum West Commit to Green Enterprises and Sustainable Development

In a significant step towards promoting eco-friendly construction and sustainable practices, 13 local government representatives from Jajarkot and Rukum West participated in an Enterprise Operational Guideline Workshop. The workshop focused on establishing and managing green enterprises to foster a circular economy, resilience, and eco-friendly rebuilding efforts in these regions.

The guidelines developed during the workshop emphasize financial literacy, mobilization of local resources, and employment generation. These measures aim to empower communities by promoting sustainable development while addressing key environmental challenges.

The initiative was led by the National Disaster Risk Reduction & Management Authority (NDRRMA) and supported by the UK in Nepal through the United Nations Nepal. It highlights the commitment of local governments to adopt eco-friendly technologies and strengthen economic growth by integrating sustainable practices into their rebuilding and development strategies.

These guidelines are set to act as a blueprint for creating green enterprises, enabling local authorities to play a crucial role in transitioning towards a resilient and sustainable future for the region.
