Kathmandu, Nepal - Kadar Savings and Credit Cooperative Ltd. successfully concluded its 17th Annual General Meeting (AGM) yesterday, bringing together its members to review the cooperative’s financial performance, annual activities, future plans, and key institutional decisions.
The meeting was held at Friends Party Venue in Kalimati, Kathmandu, in accordance with the decision of the society’s Board of Directors. The AGM provided an opportunity to discuss the annual report presented by the Chairperson, the financial report presented by the Treasurer, and the decisions made by the Board of Directors during Fiscal Year 2082/83. The report presented by the Audit Supervision Committee was also included in the meeting’s agenda.
Other major agenda items included the review and approval of the audit report, balance sheet, profit and loss account, and cash flow statement for Fiscal Year 2082/83. Members also discussed the annual plan and budget for Fiscal Year 2083/84, the appointment and remuneration of the auditor, the revised bylaws of the cooperative, and expenditures from the Cooperative Development Fund.
The meeting’s agenda further covered the approval of expenses incurred during the current fiscal year up to the AGM, budgetary arrangements for the upcoming Fiscal Year 2084/85, and elections for the Board of Directors and the Audit Supervision Committee.
In addition to reviewing institutional and financial matters, the cooperative had announced a programme to recognize and honor the sons and daughters of its members who passed the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) in 2083. This initiative reflects the cooperative’s interest in acknowledging the educational achievements of members’ children and encouraging their continued academic progress.
Cooperatives play an important role in promoting savings, providing access to financial services, and strengthening community-based economic participation. Annual general meetings offer members an important platform to review institutional performance, participate in decision-making, and contribute to the cooperative’s future direction.
The successful conclusion of the 17th AGM marks another important occasion for Kadar Savings and Credit Cooperative Ltd. to review its progress and discuss its priorities for the coming fiscal years.
