Kathmandu, October 6, 2026 - Young people from around the world will come together for an online Youth Dialogue on Mental Health & Well-being in Education, creating a platform for youth to share their experiences and perspectives on the growing importance of mental health in learning environments.
The online dialogue will be held on 12 October 2026 from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. CEST (5:45 to 7:15 p.m. Nepal Time), as part of activities marking World Mental Health Day 2026.
The event will focus on giving young people a meaningful space to discuss mental health and well-being in education, exchange experiences and ideas, and amplify youth voices in conversations about the future of education.
The initiative is organized by the SDG 4 Youth & Student Network, with the initiative led by the SDG 4 High-Level Steering Committee (HLSC) Secretariat and supported by UNESCO, the Government of Japan, and Education Beyond 2030, according to the event announcement.
Mental health and well-being are increasingly recognized as essential components of quality education. Beyond academic achievement, supportive and inclusive learning environments can play an important role in helping young people develop resilience, confidence, social connections and a sense of belonging.
The dialogue is expected to provide an opportunity for young participants from different parts of the world to contribute directly to discussions on how education systems can better respond to students' mental health and well-being needs.
Registration is now open for those interested in joining the online conversation.
