Lalitpur - Kathmandu Valley witnessed cloudy weather conditions on Friday, with thick clouds hovering over the valley and surrounding hills, indicating the continued influence of an active weather system across central Nepal. The latest visual conditions from the valley show dense cloud formations and reduced sunshine, reflecting unstable atmospheric conditions that have affected several parts of the country in recent days.
According to Nepal’s Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the country is currently under the influence of a westerly low-pressure system combined with local winds, leading to generally cloudy weather across hilly and Himalayan regions, including Bagmati Province. Light rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning has also been reported in different areas of the country, including around Kathmandu Valley.
Meteorological forecasts suggest that Kathmandu Valley may continue experiencing passing showers, increasing cloud cover and possible thunderstorms over the coming days. Temperatures in the valley are expected to remain moderate, while changing weather patterns may bring brief rainfall and gusty winds during the afternoon and evening hours.
The current weather has also contributed to clearer visibility of the surrounding hills after recent rainfall, while the cloudy atmosphere reflects the gradual transition toward Nepal’s pre-monsoon weather pattern. Authorities have advised the public, especially travelers in hilly and mountainous regions, to remain cautious due to the possibility of sudden rain, thunderstorms and weather-related disruptions.
