Kathmandu - Balephi Hydropower Limited (BHL), a publicly listed Nepali hydropower company, has successfully concluded its 14th Annual General Meeting (AGM) today, marking another milestone in its operational and corporate journey within Nepal’s renewable energy sector.
Established in 2012, Balephi Hydropower Limited is currently developing and operating clean energy projects under the Build-Own-Operate-Transfer (BOOT) model. The company’s flagship project, the 36 MW Upper Balephi ‘A’ Hydroelectric Project, is a run-of-the-river (RoR) scheme located in Sindhupalchowk District. The project began commercial operations in late 2022 (2079 B.S.) and has since been supplying electricity to Nepal’s national grid through the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA).
During the AGM, the company reviewed its operational performance, financial position, and governance practices. BHL reiterated its commitment to sustainable energy development, transparent corporate governance, and community engagement in project-affected areas. The management emphasized that hydropower development must balance energy generation with environmental responsibility and local participation.
Balephi Hydropower Limited’s shares are traded on the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) under the ticker symbol “BHL”, allowing public investors to participate directly in the country’s clean energy expansion.

Beyond Upper Balephi ‘A’, the company is also associated with future hydropower prospects, including the 46 MW Upper Balephi project, which is part of the broader renewable energy initiatives of the Golyan Group. These projects align with Nepal’s long-term goal of increasing domestic electricity production and reducing dependence on energy imports.
With the successful completion of its 14th AGM, Balephi Hydropower Limited continues to position itself as a responsible hydropower developer contributing to Nepal’s clean energy transition and sustainable development agenda.
