The Meteorological Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that the monsoon’s low-pressure line is currently situated around its average position, with moisture-laden winds from both the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal continuing to influence weather patterns across Nepal.
According to the Division, the weather across the country is expected to remain generally cloudy on Monday. Moderate rainfall is likely in some hilly areas as well as in parts of the Tarai. Heavy rainfall has been forecast for a few locations in Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces, along with one or two locations in Koshi and Bagmati provinces. Very heavy rainfall is also possible at one or two places in Gandaki and Lumbini provinces.
For tonight, the Division has predicted similar conditions, with widespread cloud cover across the country. Moderate rain is expected at many places in the hilly regions, including Lumbini Province, and in some parts of the Tarai. Heavy rainfall is again possible in a few locations in Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces, while one or two places in Koshi and Bagmati provinces may also experience heavy rain. Very heavy rainfall could occur at isolated locations in Gandaki and Lumbini provinces.
The Department has advised the public to remain alert, particularly in areas vulnerable to landslides and floods, as intense rainfall could trigger natural hazards in the coming hours.
