Kathmandu, August 31, 2025 - Luna Luitel has been crowned Miss Nepal 2025, marking the beginning of a new chapter in her life and a source of inspiration for thousands of Nepali youths.
Born and raised in Nepal, Luna left for Australia at the age of 17, where she pursued her education in Nursing and later graduated in Public Health. Alongside her academic achievements, she has also been engaged in research work in her field. Beyond academics, Luna’s adventurous spirit led her to become a Certified Scuba Diver, showcasing her versatility and determination.
In her personal journey, Luna had the option of obtaining an Australian passport - a choice many Nepali youths eagerly pursue. However, she made a conscious decision to retain her Nepali citizenship, a reflection of her deep-rooted connection to her homeland. Today, her decision resonates more strongly as she takes on the crown of Miss Nepal 2025.
Her story comes at a time when the majority of Nepali youths aspire to go abroad for education, employment, and opportunities, often choosing not to return home permanently. Luna’s achievement highlights that success abroad does not necessarily mean detachment from one’s roots. Instead, it shows that one can excel globally while still embracing a strong sense of national identity.
Speaking after her victory, Luna emphasized her commitment to using her platform to work for Nepal’s development, particularly in the field of health and youth empowerment.
