Kathmandu, August 12, 2025 - Nepal celebrated International Youth Day today with a strong message: empowering local youth is essential for sustainable development and a prosperous future. The event, organized by the National Youth Council in collaboration with United Nations agencies, civil society organizations, and emerging young leaders, brought together hundreds of participants from across the country.
Rt. Hon. President Ramchandra Paudel and Hon. Minister for Youth and Sports Tejulal Chaudhary graced the occasion as chief guests. Both leaders underscored that Nepal’s future prosperity depends on active youth engagement in decision-making, innovation, and community development.
“The participation of our young people is not just desirable-it is indispensable for achieving sustainable development and a golden future,” President Paudel stated, urging policymakers to create more inclusive opportunities for youth leadership.
Minister Chaudhary echoed the sentiment, highlighting government initiatives aimed at equipping youth with skills and resources to contribute effectively to national progress.
The program featured discussions, cultural performances, and exhibitions showcasing youth-led innovations in areas such as environmental conservation, entrepreneurship, and social change.
