The Nepal-Swiss Chamber of Commerce and Industries (NSCCI) has called for renewed efforts to enhance economic relations between Nepal and Switzerland, focusing on transformative trade practices and mutual benefits.
Addressing the 9th Annual General Meeting of NSCCI, Vice President and Spokesperson Sushil Thapa emphasized the need for a comprehensive review of trade relations between the two countries. “We must adopt a transformative perspective to strengthen bilateral ties and ensure sustainable economic benefits for Nepal,” said Thapa.
Highlighting the growing trade volume between Nepal and Switzerland, Thapa urged the NSCCI to take a leadership role in promoting exports and imports that align with Nepal’s developmental goals. He underscored that fostering such trade practices could unlock significant economic opportunities for the country.
Thapa also expressed gratitude to the Swiss government for its developmental support in Nepal, particularly in improving the livelihoods of people in Koshi Province. He noted that Swiss-funded projects have made a tangible impact on local communities by enhancing resilience and economic stability.
NSCCI reaffirmed its commitment to advancing sustainable trade practices that contribute to Nepal's economic dynamism. The organization aims to bridge the gap between policy frameworks and practical implementation, ensuring long-term benefits for both nations.
As Nepal seeks to strengthen its global trade partnerships, the emphasis on robust and mutually beneficial relations with Switzerland represents a pivotal step in fostering international cooperation and sustainable development.
