Kathmandu, March 19: The Federation of Women Entrepreneurs Associations of Nepal (FWEAN) is set to host the 8th International Women Entrepreneurs Trade Fair at Heritage Garden, Lalitpur, from March 27 to March 31, 2025. This annual event, which has become a hallmark of women's empowerment in Nepal, aims to promote and market goods and services produced by women entrepreneurs while fostering collaboration with international counterparts.

FWEAN, which represents over 5,500 women entrepreneurs from 72 districts across Nepal, has been organizing the trade fair for over a decade. The event is designed to create a platform for women entrepreneurs to showcase their products, learn from global best practices, and explore international markets.

Fostering Economic Growth Through Women Empowerment
According to FWEAN President Shobha Gyawali, the trade fair serves as a cornerstone for promoting women's entrepreneurship in Nepal. "Our goal is to facilitate the growth of domestic production, enhance export opportunities, and contribute to Nepal's economic development," said Gyawali. She emphasized that the fair not only supports the marketing of Nepali products but also provides entrepreneurs with exposure to advanced technologies, branding strategies, and packaging innovations.

Highlights of the Event
The five-day event will feature:

144 Sales Stalls: Two pavilions and stalls from 58 district-level women entrepreneur associations, alongside 82 stalls allocated to domestic and international participants.

Diverse Product Range: Agricultural goods, handicrafts, food items, service-oriented products, and international goods will be showcased, providing a rich variety for visitors.

Learning Opportunities: Entrepreneurs will gain insights into product labeling, packaging, branding, and market expansion strategies.

International Collaboration
The trade fair will host international women entrepreneurs, fostering opportunities for Nepali entrepreneurs to learn and network. This collaboration is expected to open new markets for Nepali products while introducing innovative practices to local businesses.

Prime Minister to Inaugurate the Fair
Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli will inaugurate the event as the chief guest, further highlighting the government’s support for women-led economic initiatives. The presence of leaders and stakeholders will underscore the importance of empowering women entrepreneurs in shaping Nepal's economic future.

Empowering Women, Strengthening Nepal
By creating a dynamic platform for collaboration, learning, and growth, the International Women Entrepreneurs Trade Fair stands as a testament to the power of women-led innovation and enterprise. The event is anticipated to not only bolster the economic prospects of participating entrepreneurs but also inspire a broader movement for gender-inclusive economic growth in Nepal.

Ecosphere News will continue to provide in-depth coverage of the event and its outcomes.
