Kathmandu, February 13, 2025 – The Nepal Engineers' Association (NEA), in collaboration with the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), has launched a seven-day training program titled "Power Distribution System Design and Safety." The program commenced today and will run until February 19, 2025 (Falgun 7, 2081). This comprehensive training, held daily from 10 AM to 5 PM, aims to enhance the technical expertise of 30 participating electrical engineers.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by Prof. Dr. Arvind Kumar Mishra as the Chief Guest, who underscored the significance of such technical capacity-building initiatives. Special Guest Engineer Navaraj Ojha, Deputy Executive Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority, highlighted the crucial role of training in the evolving energy sector.FB_IMG_1739436451029-1739438591.jpg

Welcoming the participants, Engineer Suman Thapa, Treasurer of the Nepal Engineers' Association and the training coordinator, emphasized the association’s commitment to organizing thematic training programs regularly to address the professional needs of engineers.

Engineer Meghnath Dhakal, who serves as the Training Manager, provided an overview of the training schedule and topics to be covered during the week-long program.

Addressing the event, Engineer Subash Chandra Baral, President of the Nepal Engineers' Association, stressed the long-standing demand for an Engineering Staff College, which has been overlooked by the government and political leadership. To address this gap, the association has initiated efforts to establish a dedicated training center within its own premises.

“This program marks a significant step towards realizing the vision of an Engineering Staff College. By continuing such initiatives, we aim to collaborate with government and private stakeholders to provide engineers and architects with the specialized training they need,” said Baral.

The training program is expected to strengthen the skills and knowledge of participants, paving the way for improved professional standards in the field of electrical engineering.
