Ecosphere News Service 2026-10-26 18:46:56

26 October 2026 - A webinar titled Future-Ready Cities in Action will take place on Tuesday, 27 October, at 2:00 p.m. GMT+7, bringing together experts and city leaders to discuss how effective urban governance can help build more inclusive, resilient and sustainable cities.
Organised as part of Urban October, the webinar will feature practical experiences and insights from Australia, Bangladesh and the Philippines. Discussions will focus on emerging approaches to urban governance, lessons learned from city-level initiatives, and strategies to help cities prepare for future challenges.
The event aims to highlight the role of city leadership and forward-looking governance in addressing the growing complexities of urban development. As cities face mounting pressures from rapid urbanisation, climate change, infrastructure demands and social inequalities, effective planning and inclusive decision-making are increasingly important for sustainable urban futures.
The webinar will also provide an opportunity to exchange knowledge and explore practical solutions that can strengthen urban institutions, improve public services and enhance cities’ resilience.
Urban October is a global initiative that encourages dialogue and action on sustainable urbanisation. It begins with World Habitat Day and concludes with World Cities Day on 31 October, bringing together governments, communities, development organisations and urban professionals to shape better cities for all.
The webinar offers an opportunity for urban planners, policymakers, local government representatives, development practitioners and other interested stakeholders to learn from regional and international experiences and contribute to discussions on building future-ready cities.
