Kathmandu, June 27 - Manakamana Daraundi Hydropower Company Limited successfully concluded its 7th Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Kathmandu on Saturday, endorsing several key corporate and governance agendas while reaffirming its commitment to advancing hydropower development in Nepal.
The AGM reviewed and approved the company's financial highlights for the fiscal year 2081/82, appointed an external auditor for the upcoming fiscal year, and endorsed the appointment of an independent director in line with applicable corporate governance provisions. Shareholders also approved amendments to the company's Memorandum and authorized the Board of Directors to secure long-term bank financing for the financial management of projects being developed under the company's management.
During the meeting, the company shared progress on its 9.84-megawatt hydropower project, stating that construction is scheduled to begin this year. According to the company, the project is targeted for completion within the next two years.
