Lalitpur, Nepal -The International Labour Organization and National Human Rights Commission of Nepal have strengthened collaboration to advance equality, dignity and safety in Nepal’s workplaces, focusing particularly on the rights of women, informal sector workers and marginalized communities. According to the initiative, many workers in Nepal continue to experience discrimination, unequal wages, job insecurity, violence and harassment in the workplace. The collaboration aims to reinforce accountability mechanisms and ensure that international labour standards are effectively translated into stronger protection and fair treatment for workers across the country. The partnership is expected to support efforts toward creating safer, more inclusive and equitable working environments while promoting decent work, social justice and human rights in Nepal’s labour sector. It also highlights the growing importance of coordinated action among national institutions and international organizations to address long-standing workplace inequalities and improve labour conditions. The initiative further emphasizes the need for stronger implementation of labour rights policies, protection against workplace harassment and equal opportunities for all workers regardless of gender, social background or employment status. Stakeholders believe that such cooperation can contribute significantly to building a more just and sustainable labour environment in Nepal.IMG_20260508_151615-1778232834.jpg
