WWF Nepal Announces Best Eco-Club Award 2026 with Focus on Local Eco-Innovation

Kathmandu - WWF Nepal has officially opened the call for submissions for the Best Eco-Club Award 2026, introducing an “Eco Innovation Challenge” that places young people at the center of solving local environmental problems through practical and scalable solutions.
According to the announcement, the 2026 edition of the award is aligned with Earth Hour’s global theme of “One Problem, One Solution”, encouraging eco-clubs across Nepal to identify a single local environmental issue and respond with one simple, doable action supported by an innovative use of waste materials.
The challenge is structured around three key steps. Participating eco-clubs are required to first identify a local environmental issue affecting their community. They must then design a realistic action plan that directly addresses the issue. Finally, clubs are asked to propose one useful item created from waste materials that supports their solution, reinforcing principles of reuse and circular economy.
WWF Nepal has stated that the winning eco-club will receive institutional support to scale up its solution, highlighting the organization’s intent to move beyond recognition and towards long-term environmental impact driven by youth leadership.
The initiative aims to strengthen environmental stewardship among students by promoting innovation, responsibility, and locally grounded problem-solving, particularly in areas such as waste management, water conservation, greenery development, and sustainable consumption.
Eco-clubs interested in participating can download the application form through WWF Nepal’s official platform. Completed applications must be submitted via email to [email protected].
The deadline for submission is 10 February 2026 (27th Magh 2082).
Through this initiative, WWF Nepal continues to emphasize that meaningful environmental change can begin at the community level-when young people are empowered to turn ideas into action.
